Worship takes on a number of forms at South Church. Giving is one of them. We give of time and resources, but we also give financially for ministering to our community and beyond. As believers, we do not labor for personal wealth or possessions, but steward what God has given us, and, in doing so, proclaim Truth to our brothers, sisters & community.
If you're a Christian outside the South Church community and would like to support the proclamation of Jesus through South Church above & beyond the primary giving to your local Christian ministry, we appreciate your support.
God provides for us so we can faithfully carry out the ministry of making Christ known to others. We testify to our dependence and love for Him by cheerfully giving of our “firstfruits” (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9). We give a glad sacrifice and are not interested in anything but gifts given accordingly for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus who was sacrificed for us, and from whom we receive all we have.
"How does South Church manage contributions?" By God's grace, we've been able to operate on a zero monthly budget. Through thick and thin, the Lord has provided for every need. At the end of each month, once all expenses have been paid out (staff, rent, etc.), every dollar is allocated so that we begin each month with a zero balance. This helps us maintain our focus & faith on God (the giver of all things), reminding us that we are simply channels of His faithfulness.
"How are funds allocated?" we employ a 70.20.10 Principle to determine how to allocate surplus dollars to the exaltation of the name of Jesus: 70%-Local Ministry, 20%-Church Planting, 10%-Global Ministry.
Local Ministry dollars are utilized by our Restore families to minister the Word & work of Jesus, assisting local ministries, distributing meals & helping struggling families throughout Kerrville. Church Planting dollars are invested in local church plants. Global Ministry contributions support efforts in Mexico & indigenous missions in Nepal.
Thank you for helping us exalt the name of Jesus in our community & abroad.
For the sake of brevity, that was a short-hand explanation of a somewhat different model of financial stewardship. This is an important area of transparency to us. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to let us know.
